Joyful Noise with Junko Fujiyama - Wasshoi Wednesday #11
Regular attendees of JapanFest Atlanta will be happy to know that today we are talking about the talented Junko Fujiyama, who has performed on our stage in past years! We're happy to have her on board with us for Virtual JapanFest, and are excited to announce we will have an exclusive video from her available for everyone to enjoy this week!
For any of our readers who are new to JapanFest, Junko Fujiyama is a Japanese singer-songwriter/keyboard & piano player who performs all over the United States. She has worked with several bands as the lead singer and has also become a solo performer.
Junko has performed at various cultural events (such as the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC), anime conventions, music festivals, and music clubs. She started piano when she was just five years old. When she was a child she also sang in a city chorus and learned how to sing in many different genres. Her repertoire includes pop, rock, children's songs, and even enka (Japanese traditional folk ballads)!
Junko’s original songs can be described as J-rock and J-pop blended together. They are all together powerful, delicate, and intriguing. She also covers J-pop/rock and anime-themed songs, adding some American pop flavor to make them even sweeter! Check out more of her work and info at http://www.reverbnation.com/junkomusic
We're excited to announce that we will have a special performance video by Junko uploading to our YouTube channel this Friday! If you're not already subscribed, you can do so here! See you next week!
